CALS Ending
On September 25, 2001, the
Central Area Loop Study Committee (CALSC) of OKI voted to not recommend
Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) for adoption as the loop circulator technology for
the Central Area.
CALSC Final Meeting Documents
The following were
distributed before and/or presented at the final meeting of the Central Area
Loop Study Committee (CALSC) held on September 25, 2001.
CALS Draft Final Report (DFR) Rebuttal Documents
On July 17, 2001, at the
second-to-last CALS Committee (CALSC) meeting, the CALS consultant firm Parsons
Brinckerhoff (PB) distributed the CALS Draft Final Report (DFR) containing a
number of inaccurate engineering, operational and cost determinations about the
proposed Sky Loop/Taxi 2000 PRT system. This necessitated a detailed rebuttal
by the SLC that we prepared and then distributed on September 11, 2001, two
weeks before the study's conclusion on September 25th. The contents of this
rebuttal, in which we challenged a large number of the errors in the DFR, are
presented here. We regret that we cannot present the DFR itself, for although
we have requested a copy in digital form from OKI it has not yet been
sent.
