Northern Kentucky Consensus Committee - Projects & Studies

The Northern Kentucky Consensus Committee is a regional organization
of over 70 individuals representing business, government and non-profit
entities within the eight northern counties. The Consensus Committee process
forms a mechanism for setting funding priorities for projects and studies
within in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
The Northern Kentucky Consensus Committee has voted to endorse local
matching funds for a Central Area Loop Study (CALS) to be performed under the
auspices of the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments with
$500,000 of matching federal funds:
"The Loop, Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) - $125,000 Funding
to conduct a comprehensive market and engineering study of a circulator system,
The Loop, for the Covington-Newport-Cincinnati riverfront and downtown areas
that may compliment light rail, especially if personal rapid transit (PRT) is
used for the Loop and ties in at the intermodal center."
